And David swore again and said, Thy father knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes: therefore he thinketh, Jonathan shall not know it, lest he be sorry: but indeed, as the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a [b]step between me and death.

Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul [c]requireth, that I will do unto thee.
